Learning with your hands

At the back of the shop, a big table and eight chairs. Claire, Inès and Agathe show you how, at your own pace: casting on, sewing a straight line, wetting the paper just enough.

Materials for the session are provided. To carry on at home, each workshop has its own kit, to order online and collect in store.

How a workshop works

  1. Book

    Pick your workshop from the schedule and book your place online, by phone or in the shop.

  2. Come empty-handed

    Materials for the session are provided. Two hours around the big table, at your own pace.

  3. Carry on at home

    Leave with your project under way. The workshop kit is waiting for you in the shop so you can finish it.

From September to June, except over Christmas. During school holidays, it's time for the children's courses.

Prices

  • One session

    28 € 2 hours, materials included

    Knitting, crochet, sewing or watercolour, booking required.

  • Five-session card

    125 € valid for one year

    The workshops of your choice, at your own pace. It also makes a great gift.

  • Children's workshop

    16 € 1.5 hours, age 6 to 11

    Wednesday mornings. An adult brings the child and picks them up.

  • Knit and tea

    8 € Friday afternoons

    Drop-in: bring your project, Claire answers your questions. Tea included.

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the workshop; after that, the session is charged.

Claire has knitted since childhood. After fifteen years in a communications agency, she opened Pelote & Papier in 2017 with a simple idea: a shop where you learn as much as you buy.

Trained in fashion in Paris, Inès came back to Tours to pass on her skills. She runs the sewing workshops and advises on fabrics, threads and patterns.
